My husband and I live in Oxford, and our first time at Yugo did NOT disappoint. Food, ambiance, and service at this Asian fusion restaurant were all top notch. We ordered the sliders, fries, tempura okra, and pork dumplings. All were delicious. My husband enjoyed his Sapporo beer, and my French martini was delicious and SO much fun with the smoke bubble pop. Our server, Victoria, was warm, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely return soon!
Graduation weekend here in Oxford and the Square is in full swing. My daughter chose Yugo for dinner. We had never been, the menu is small and compact, but it turns out the biggest surprises are in the smallest packages. It's a pretty brick building on the Square (adjacent ish . Very unassuming and it is relatively new and from what I can gather, more unknown amongst the big hitters (Boure, City Grocery etc. ....but as you walk in an oasis. Stylish, a bit dark and hopping. More big city than college down. The ceiling is dominated by a white floral/greenery installation very cool.. Service is crisp, quick and professional. We were able to make a reservation which is a HUGE plus around here and they accommodated a request to add one person at the last minute. Our server Victoria was simply excellent. Very nice, cool, knew her stuff and made sure we had all we needed on a busy night.Drinks first The Teapot is a must vodka, hibiscus....etc....tasty. Cocktails are cool and expertly made and they nail the wine list good selections and they don't fall victim to the trend of trying to be too clever good options, known labels mixed with a few new ones.. Small plates were really good. Edmame Hummus very good, Lettuce Wraps nice, Crawfish were a hit.....Thai Beef had potential but was WAY too salty. It was kind of like a beef ceviche if they nail that, it has potential. Dinners were well prepared sesame chicken, pad Thai, chicken fried rice....good food. Deserts were nice sorbet, cake....easy and goodOverall, we were really pleased with it and sad we did not try before great spot for the parents, and the kids who graduate from the other tried/true places to something different.
It's not soley a restaurant. It's a bar with limited food options. The food was great though..
