Our family ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, British Burger, Hamburger and the Kids Mac and Cheese. Everything was so good and fresh! The fried steak was so big that he had his own record. Needless to say you will leave the Hitchin Post full and happy.
It was great. Had the small order of the fried mushrooms and they were huge and delicious. The Ranch Dressing was almost at home scraped? Then a steak had salad and it cooked ingeniously. Do not expect to wait hand and foot because this a local restaurant is not a franchise chain where their smiles are fake. This is a true Texas place with Texas setting, but good food. Nicely decorated and good choice of alcohol. Bring the family back next time.
Recommended by our hotel for a little late dinner. Not crowded (which was good, but then we stopped again at 9 a.m.). Order chicken fried steak grilled pork buckle and double burgers, all well with our chosen sides. Everyone was happy.
I saw this restaurant got good reviews, so I thought I would try. I went to the restaurant and saw the outside and became hesitant. I decided to walk in and it has a wonderful atmosphere. There's a cow on the wall. The waitress gives us the menu that looks like a newspaper. On the front it tells the story of how this building was a sheep bar 70 years ago and later turned into a restaurant. The food reminds me of a restaurant when I was a kid serving chicken fried steak with land engraving. I'm so glad I stopped here.
Traveling back to San Angelo thru Ozona Tx On a Sunday meals are so bland with limited locations that provide a sit down meal. This location not only was open on Sunday, but allowed my daughter to bring in her pet as long as it was in a carrier. Meal was delicious and savory to my palet The sweet tea was refreshing and delicious A location to definitely return to. After a good meal a nice breezy rose garden walk to admire.
