I'm really happy I stopped by here. Food is cheap and delicious. Try the larp moo which is their signature dish. They do it right. It's about a 10 minute walk up the road from Painow but worth the trip.
Fresh herbs and beef and sticky rice. Deep fried innards with chilli sauce. Super delicious and authentically Thai.
We personally had the larp moo (fried ground pork with herbs and spices) which was good. Also tried the deepfried porkribs and deep fried intestines. The fried intestines was a good for Trying some northern thai food but it wasn't for me. I'm open to new food, (kinda like porkrinds just not as crispy) some of them looked/tasted like they didn't clean the intestines out before cooking.. Not sure being my first time but that's what it looked like. Great place for trying new things but I wouldn't return.
I feel bad giving such a low rating since the people that worked there seemed nice, but I really did not like the food. Admittedly, I am not the target audience because I like to eat relatively healthy and it’s pretty tough to find anything healthy on the menu. I ended up having roast pork, but it was 80% fat (which some people might be fine with). I also had the spicy seafood soup, which was definitely spicy, but had very little seafood. The place comes highly recommended by Lonely Planet and there were plenty of people still there when I got there (on the late side, not too long before closing), so maybe I’m missing something. They did have large Singhas for 90 baht (vs. I’m paying twice that at dinner in Ko Phi Phi) and in general the menu is relatively cheap, so that’s a positive.
