El Cantir - Palafrugell

Based on previous reviews we decided to eat here tonight. What a disappointment. Our salad entree was nice. My husband 's plate was removed and his main meal was served before I 'd finished my entree. Fish was okay but my husbands entrecote was tough and overcooked. Then dessert came. I had ordered fruit salad with a lime sorbet. A fruit salad was brought out. When I queried where the sorbet was I was told they didn 't have any lime. sorbet ! But the menu says lime sorbet and when I ordered you didn 't mention that it wasn 't included . So I was given a small scoop of lemon sorbet Meanwhile thè table next door ordered the same desert. Not a word was said that the sorbet would not accompany it. I do not blame the wait staff but zi fo have a problem with thè restuarant management. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are so many alternatives in Calella de Palafrugell that I think did retardant will die thè death it deserves.

We were recommended this place by a fellow guest where we were staying. It was a nice experience, food was good. Fairly pricey though. Would return.

We stayed at the Hotel Alga and decided to try the hotel restaurant El Càntir one evening. The menu costs 28 euro and includes three dishes. I was almost shocked at the high level of excellence the food was prepared with. It was simply the best meal I've had in more than a year! A hidden pearl!

I had eaten here many times, since I had been staying at the hotel a few times. I remember reading a very extensive menu of more than ten firsts, ten seconds and many desserts. Now there are several options but with shorter menus and I haven't got it as much as before. the very friendly staff and the price though a little high, correct.

Absolutely great! We ware there tonight with a family and the food was really great! Nice view and bueatiful garden around made a nice athomsphere. Not crowded too. Recommend without doubt!
