The place is absolutely filthy and cluttered inside. I was ready to leave but my husband wanted to stay. There was barely any food on the buffet and the food that was there was dried up and cold. I'm just sitting here praying I don't get food poisoning. Their fried rice is brown mush. Their lo mein is brown mushy linguine. Their wonton soup is in an actual cockpot sitting on the counter. Room temperature dried up slop. Don't waste your time or money. This place will close soon.
I was initially unsure about trying a buffet during the Covid crisis, but this place has managed it very well. I noticed that both the staff and customers were fully compliant with mask guidelines when not seated at their tables. They also provide gloves for using the tongs at the buffet. As a sushi lover, I found the selection a bit limited, but I was pleased with the quality of everything I tried. Given the current challenges, the variety offered was impressive. I will definitely return and recommend it to my local friends and family.
The food was lacking, as evidenced by the attached photos, showing empty sushi tables. The quality of the food was below par—the fried rice was a dark, mushy mess. The service was disappointing as well; plates piled up on our table before anyone cleared them. When I asked for a cup of water, it came with minimal ice and no offer to refill it. Additionally, Dao had the highest prices of all the buffets listed, with no discounts for seniors or military members. A cheap experience for the amount spent! I expected much better, but it was a total letdown. I won’t be returning!
First and foremost, the atmosphere is inviting and doesn’t carry that typical buffet vibe. With touches of Japanese architecture and art, the restaurant feels a notch above your average buffet. After you’re seated and place your drink orders, you can jump straight into the buffet. There’s a section dedicated to the usual offerings found in Chinese and Japanese buffets—think General Tso’s chicken, bourbon beef, and a variety of soups (egg drop, hot and sour, miso, and wonton). There’s even a hibachi grill where you can get made-to-order dishes. But the real highlight is the sushi. As mentioned, this is conveyor belt sushi, prepared quickly and simply. Yet, the sushi chefs show genuine dedication to their craft, and the presentations are visually appealing, though that won’t last long with diners eager to dig in. Unfortunately, the fruit, salad, and seafood sections of the buffet leave something to be desired. For some reason, the banana pudding is excessively thick, and the seafood—being from a buffet—is not fresh but frozen, which is evident in the rubbery texture of the crab legs. Lastly, the dessert selection is quite basic, featuring a small array of cookies, cakes, and ice cream. Overall, the food is more than decent (particularly the sushi), the atmosphere is pleasant, the service is attentive, and the cost is around $15 per person, making this place worthwhile. Once again, I recommend it for sushi lovers on a budget. However, if you're looking for the best sushi in town, a traditional sushi restaurant would be a better choice.
My recent trip to Florida to visit my parents I went to dinner with them and my brother to this buffet. I have to say I did not know what I was in for going to a buffet with sushi I am not usually a fan of it sitting out. I love sushi and I could not wait to try it here, The price was not too bad... So I have to say I was impressed with the size of the buffet and they have a pretty large Sushi area. I leaned toward eat nothing but the sushi. I tried some things I have never seen before and everything was pretty good. The Chefs were behind the counter making more rolls and items as they disappeared. When we first went in I think there was some left over from the lunch buffet but after they were gone they did put out some new items. My Parents leaned toward the buffet foods and my brother had both. It was not bad, Service was very good they cleaned away plates right away and kept the drinks filled, The quality was not bad. Better than some other buffets I have had sushi at but Japanese restaurants that serve nothing but fresh Sushi you can not beat, Would I go back here? There are so many new places I would have to say this would be not be my first choice but I would go back sometime, The restaurant was clean and that is very important!
