The place is absolutely filthy and cluttered inside. I was ready to leave but my husband wanted to stay. There was barely any food on the buffet and the food that was there was dried up and cold. I'm just sitting here praying I don't get food poisoning. Their fried rice is brown mush. Their lo mein is brown mushy linguine. Their wonton soup is in an actual cockpot sitting on the counter. Room temperature dried up slop. Don't waste your time or money. This place will close soon.
I was hesitant about a buffet during the Covid crisis, but this buffet does it right. I noticed 100% mask compliance with staff and customers while away from tables. Gloves are provided for handling tongs at buffet. I like sushi. Selection was a bit limited, but I was happy with quality of everything I had. Considering the challenges today, variety was great. I will be back, and will recommend to local friends and family.
I have visited: Sakura Japanese Buffet rated 3.5 on Yelp. Crystal Buffet rated 3.5 on Yelp. Young's Buffet rated 3.0 on Yelp. Hong Kong Buffet rated 2.5 on Yelp. Recently, I visited Dao Japanese Buffet rated 3.5 on Yelp. WOW! They are by far the worst of all the above. And to say that they are even worse than Hong Kong Buffet is saying a lot! Food was scarce pictures attached. Empty sushi tables. Their food was sub par, fried rice was awful dark brown mush. Service was bad. Plates accumulated on table before being picked up. I asked for a cup of water and I received it with little ice and no offer to refill. Highest price of all the Buffets listed! With no Senior or Military Discounts! Cheap B& ! I expected a LOT BETTER but it was a total disappointment. I will not be back!
Sushi not served in a high-end sushi place, either it be in supermarkets or in buffet lines, always receives an extra sense of caution for me. However, not everyone can enjoy high-end sushi on a weekly or monthly basis. So at times, I brave the waters in eating what I like to call conveyor belt sushi. Dao Japanese Buffet surely fits the mold of a buffet that specializes in said conveyor belt sushi, but goes the extra mile in actually preparing something more than descent. With that in mind, I usually suggest this place for those who enjoy sushi but are on a budget. First, the atmosphere is surely welcoming and doesn 't have that buffet feel to it. Utilizing some elements of Japanese architecture and art, the restaurant does feel a cut above the common cookie cutter buffets. Once you get your table and give your drink orders, you can dive into the buffet itself. There is a section dedicated to the traditional buffet fair in Chinese and Japanese buffet restaurants which includes General Tso 's chicken, beef bourbon, and the four kinds of soups (egg drop, hot and sour, miso, wonton). There is even a hibachi grill that will make your hibachi meals to order. However, the sushi is where it is at. As mentioned earlier, this is conveyor belt sushi so it is made quick-to-order and isn 't complicated. However, the sushi chefs behind the line still put enough dedication towards their craft and the sushi does come out beautifully. Presentation won 't last long as patrons will quickly tear it up. The fruit, salad, and seafood sections of the buffet are less than satisfactory. I don 't know what it is but the banana pudding is too thick. As for the seafood, it is for a buffet so they are not fresh but frozen as one could tell by how rubbery the shells of the crab legs were. Finally, the dessert section is basic with a small selection of cookies, cakes, and ice cream. Overall, the more-than-descent food (especially the sushi) in general, atmosphere, service personnel, and the pricing being less than $15 in general per person is what makes this place worth its while. Once again, recommended for those who enjoy sushi and are on a budget. However, if you are one of those people who want to eat the best sushi in town, it is best to go to a traditional sushi restaurant.
My recent trip to Florida to visit my parents I went to dinner with them and my brother to this buffet. I have to say I did not know what I was in for going to a buffet with sushi I am not usually a fan of it sitting out. I love sushi and I could not wait to try it here, The price was not too bad... So I have to say I was impressed with the size of the buffet and they have a pretty large Sushi area. I leaned toward eat nothing but the sushi. I tried some things I have never seen before and everything was pretty good. The Chefs were behind the counter making more rolls and items as they disappeared. When we first went in I think there was some left over from the lunch buffet but after they were gone they did put out some new items. My Parents leaned toward the buffet foods and my brother had both. It was not bad, Service was very good they cleaned away plates right away and kept the drinks filled, The quality was not bad. Better than some other buffets I have had sushi at but Japanese restaurants that serve nothing but fresh Sushi you can not beat, Would I go back here? There are so many new places I would have to say this would be not be my first choice but I would go back sometime, The restaurant was clean and that is very important!
