The Waitresses are always smiling and doing their best to satisfy their customers. I only gave 4 out of 5 due to the floor but hey we were not eating off the floor were we?
The food is all right, yet the staff is friendly. However, if you want quick service, this is not the place to come. In fact, the time it took to get our food (and the restaurant was not busy) really made our dining experience disappointing. We waited about 30 minutes for our food. To top it off, I ordered a fried beef taco and received a chicken taco instead. They took the chicken one away and about 10+ minutes later I got my beef taco. Unless you only want to eat chips and salsa, I wouldn’t come here. I’ll not come back. That’s too bad because the actual restaurant atmosphere is pretty cool.
We have been to this restaurant many times. The service today was the worst that I have had in years. The waitress couldn’t get the drinks right. Brought half a basket of chips many broken for four people. We asked for more and they said one basket per table. Called the manager about the chips he was unsympathetic and not helpful. We told him no tip and we would not be back and he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. The meals had very small portions and the price was high. Those were the smallest tacos I have ever seen. They used the smallest corn tortillas and had about an ounce of ingredients inside the shell. Literally a two bite taco! Terrible attitude and this is our last dollar spent in this establishment
I visit Palm Desert monthly on business and have dined here before. It was decent on my previous visits. Today I ordered the same food as before yet it was completely different, regular tacos filled with guac etc that I have never had in a taco in my 62 years of living! When I politely told the waitress that this is not what I ordered or expected, she said Yes, it is and continued to argue with me that they make their tacos differently. First I did not order from the menu, told her that i just wanted a simple beef hard shell taco and a side of rice! My heavens if you know your taco 's are made differently, simply ask what the customer would like on it. Secondly, don 't ARGUE with the customer on such a simple matter. Her attitude made a relative non-event into my decision to never return to this place that has such poor attitude about customer service. They are a dime a dozen these restaurants, go elsewhere and save the aggravation and insult!
I would rate this restaurant 3.5 stars. There are only two outdoor tables, and even during lunch hour, the indoor seating wasn't very busy. The service started off well with prompt seating and menu delivery. The waitress was pleasant, but throughout our hour-long visit, we were only checked on once beyond the initial drink and food order, which was my main concern. A minor detail I didn't hold against them was that they didn't offer water with our drinks; just keep in mind to ask for it if you'd like some. The tacos were quite good, and the salsas for both chips and tacos impressed me. The margarita during happy hour was decent, though we only tried the blended option. Beers are served in icy mugs, which may not be ideal for some, but I understand it appeals to many. Overall, it's a decent place.
