Escena Golf Club - Palm Springs

The price of $147 for the conditions we encountered today (November 17) was ridiculous. The greens were rolling at about a 6 and were quite bumpy. Given that the course is not fully recovered from overseeding, charging such high prices feels like nothing more than price gouging.

If you order a hot dog at the turn, be prepared to wait 10 minutes for it, only for the marshal to inform you that you're off pace. Don’t expect to be courteous and relaxed with your group on the greens here; they maintain a very strict pace of play.

Make sure to play from the tees that correspond to your handicap, or you might find yourself in for a challenging day. The course is stunning, with a World War II airshow as a backdrop. The greens were still a bit slow since reopening two weeks ago, but overall they were in good condition.

Might be one of the best values in the whole desert. The course was well maintained and the holes were each unique. It just felt right for the price. There is no range but you can hit into nets before the round. The carts do not come GPS equipped but they have a free app you can use.Every time I find a value price for gold in the desert there is a reason. In this case it is just the amenities that are lacking but I understand that. The course was fantastic
