The complex is new and very well maintained. The road ends here and there are no cars in the night. In the immediate vicinity there is also a helicopter base with top personnel and top equipment. We liked the first flight so much that we booked a second immediately. The whole is rounded off by a chic, upscale restaurant. We had burgers, steaks and salmon, all highly recommended. Here they still have a lot of time for each individual guest. We felt really comfortable all the time and that was definitely the highlight of our Alaska trip.
This lodge is a great concept with individual cabins. They have a small veranda in the front and they stand in front of the Knik River. The cabins are clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable and the blankets are good and warm. This is a good thing because the cabins get quite cold at night and the heating heats the cabin, but it would probably be some time in a high setting. Otherwise, there is a kettle to heat water and a nice bathroom. You also have a restaurant on site that has good choices for dinner. I wish we could have had a helicopter tour, but next time!
If you want to feel like you are in a cheerful maisy Christmas movie on the brand channel, you must stay here!!!! Everything was absolutely amazing! The restaurant was great! Tours were on time. We bought a bottle of wine and sat on our veranda at night and sucked everything up. Alaska is good for the soul! We loved the DVD collection. We saw some movies while we were there. If you're near Palmer, you have to stay here. Thank you to all the employees who feel like we lived there!
We didn't stay, we came to the glacier for the helicopter tour. Gabe, our pilot, was very nice and knowledgeable, as well as a great note with the helicopter. Super soft landings. We were also lucky that we could land the first on the new heated landing field. Great experience worth money.
This place is nice to stay and enjoy the views. It also has a local restaurant that also serves beers, but closes around 9pm. There isn't anything else around really to do other than taking a helicopter trip to the glacier. That being said, that's something I didn't expect and is a rather loud noise to start your day with. We took as a family 2 Cabins, that although we have order months in advance, we didn't get a close pair, but 2 relatively far from each other. The Cabins are equipped nicely and didn't really miss anything. They also have cute porches for each of the Cabins. A small side table to the outdoor chairs can be a nice addition.
