If you are looking for authentic flavors i would not recommend this place. I should have known as soon as I saw forks on the tables instead of chop sticks. Service is great! Everyone is kind and welcoming. Food is okay and the price is good. I got the pan fried noodles and a hot and sour soup. Both were lacking the bold umami flavor of Chinese cooking. But the entrees were clean (not greasy and tasted fresh) and presented well and was a good portion for the price. The noodles in the pan fried noodles were not the right noodle so they came out overly chewy and tasteless.Over all would I go back to this place, probably not because I like more authentic flavors. But for someone that is more into the American style Chinese will probably like it.Oh last thing the kitchen looked very clean and organized as i walked past it going to the bathroom. Bathroom was also clean.
Probably the single worst Chinese food experience I’ve had in Palo Alto. They tried to sell us twice fried pork and it was completely messed up. The owner actually came out and had the audacity to tell us “yea we know you know what real Twice Fried Pork is and this is fake, but we don’t care. If you don’t like it we’ll take it back”. I actually burst out laughing! I’ve never had a manager blatantly tell me they cook a fake dish! Really funny but would never eat here again.
I 1st ate at this restaurant in the late nineties. I love all types of food. Chinese food is one of my favorite foods to eat. This is the best Chinese food restaurant I have ever dined at! If you have a favorite dish, it's better here. Anything you order here will be Delicious! Great location in downtown Palo Alto, but plan to eat early because parking and tables fill up fast. The staff is curtious, tables are kid friendly, the ambiance and decor is ornate, yet subtle. The only criticism I can make is sometimes it takes awhile to get your check, and the bathroom is next to the kitchen. If you haven't been to Jing Jing's, GO. Tonight. You can thank me later. Vegetarian options: Any diet will be satisfied. Kid-friendliness: 2 words,.. paper tablecloth. Dietary restrictions: The menu is clear, and about 10 pages long, get the chow main!
Delicious Chinese food. The menu has a great selection and always hits the spot.
