Instead of sitting on the beach, we chose to sit in the hut on the elevated sand-covered section, with a view of the beach. While there, we perused the menu with the intention of returning later for dinner. However, we ended up staying for another beer and decided to order some food. We ordered two plates of momos (dumplings), one with chicken steamed and the other with roasted veggies, each plate containing 10 pieces. Though we were quite full, the food was scrumptious and we devoured it all. Our server, Justin from Darjeeling, was attentive and friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with him. We ended up staying for the rest of the evening, enjoying a few more drinks. It was a delightful evening with delicious food, a good atmosphere, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Our total bill, including tip, came to 1,900 rupees (about £20), making it well worth the visit and not a tourist trap. Definitely recommended.
We had a pleasant evening dining at Ma-Rita. This unique restaurant is located in the heart of Palolem Beach with a diverse menu. The service was outstanding, especially from Sasi who we recognized from another restaurant we visited last year. We both enjoyed a delicious prawn curry, although we wished it had more shrimp. The beer and wine were served perfectly chilled. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit.
We absolutely loved this restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dining by the sea in front of the sunbeds. The service was exceptional. We will definitely be returning!
I've been here in palolem for a few years. I and my wife always stay behind ma rita to live in huts. we always have breakfast, lunch and often even dinner at the ma rita. this year we feel that eating was better than ever before....Has never been bad, but this time we think that the manager had really qualified staff found in the kitchen. service was super and fast. great location in the middle of the southern end of the beach. perfect place to sit in the evening with a drink and watch the sunset. a really nice and friendly place that is also guarded by the charming and smiling dog jennie:
I returned to Ma Rita after visiting there four years ago and it still didn’t disappoint. There seafood is top notch, a little pricey compared to other dishes but it’s as fresh as you can get so can’t complain. We had some tasty prawns and...a lovely kingfish with a salad and fries spread. They had done the best calamari that we have had so far too. Definitely have a night on the beach with a candle lit dinner here.
