Ulzama - Pamplona

We found this restaurant through Trip Advisor and were delighted that we went there. For less than 17 euros each, we had a delicious and plentiful 3 course meal with a bottle of good quality wine included to share. If you find yourself in Pamplona, do not hesitate, just go to Bar Ulzama.

As is common in Spain, the Meal of the Day (Menu del Dia) is 2 or 3 courses, sometimes wine is included and is served as Lunch. We we in Pamplona and leaving the next day, we decided to have our meal mid-day. We chose Bar Ulzama, as it looked clean, open and not too busy at that point, their Menu Del Dia was 3 courses including Bread and Wine and was €13.50 We both chose the Ensalada with chicken, oh my it was delicious, apple, walnuts, crispy onions, and bits of cheese, and a dressing that was very light an flavorful. My husband ordered the Ribs and I ordered a Cod dish, and both meals were very good, and presented beautifully and very substantial, the wine was actually a bottle, not a glass! I was unable to eat dessert, I chose an expresso and my husband had the warm Apple Strudel. I would highly recommend this lovely little place, service was efficient and friendly.

This place refused to seat me as a solo traveler and I was unable to order from the menu. I asked for Menu. I was asked how many persons. I said one. I was sent away. The place was not crowded. There was no line. Just unwilling to seat one person. Try Bar San Nicholas across the street. Friendly, they speak some English, and great food.

Pedimos el Menú 25 € Fin de Semana, vino, pan y agua incluido. Lo que más nos gustó fueron las carrilleras de cerdo y la tarta de queso. Linguini con carbonara de papada ibérica. El plato que más éxito tuvo. Arroz salteado con guiso de calamares. Correcto, pero fue el plato que menos éxito causó. Carrilleras de cerdo ibérico al vino tinto con parmentier trufado. Súper melositas y jugosas, para repetir sí o sí Tarta de queso. Super esponjosa y cremosita Calidad precio increíble con muchos platos para elegir. Aparte del menú también tienen carta de pintxos y tapas (el pulpo está brutal) El fin de semana es aconsejable reservar.
