The nostalgic atmosphere takes you back to the roaring 20's with a rock and roll diner theme that reminds me of my old house. The food was incredible and I couldn't even finish my cheeseburger, it tasted like it was grilled in my dad's backyard. The owner was friendly and happy to share the history of the restaurant, making it hard for me to leave. This is a must-see for kids as well.
We arrived for lunch just before 1 pm and the restaurant was still bustling, which we took as a good sign. My wife and our hungry teenage son ordered from the menu, while I opted for one of their 6 lunch specials. Our son devoured the double bacon cheeseburger, struggling to finish it all. I savored the meatloaf with two sides, impressed by the generous portions and homemade mac n cheese. The meatloaf was hearty and delicious. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food we received, and our total bill came to $32.00 including a 15% tip. Now it's time for a much-needed food coma nap.
Second time that I have eaten here in 2 weeks. Beef tips on mashed potatoes gravy w/ green beans and rutabagers. ... Tasted good, extremely fast service, nice/funny waitress ... 50s themed restaurant ... Previously had meatloaf which was also good ... Good sized portions w/ drink included in price of meal ... I recommend this place for a nice lunch!!!
The restaurant always serves delicious meals with a welcoming staff and comforting home-cooked food. I highly recommend trying the lunch hot bar - it doesn't get any better than that.
Great service, food, prices. Glad they've reopened post-Michael. A wonderful addition to the downtown north neighborhood
