We had requested a ground-floor room near the hallway, but unfortunately, that also put us close to an overflowing trash can that was often full due to the lack of room service. It’s no surprise that raccoons and stray cats would take turns munching on the leftovers. After spending $1,800 a week, I’m left wondering if we should consider other options for our next vacation. It’s disappointing to feel this way, and I’m confident many others share the same sentiment. We have been loyal guests at your hotel for nearly 40 years, always choosing to stay with you even during tough times, like hurricanes Opal and Michael—events that are beyond your control. However, the issues I’ve mentioned are manageable if addressed properly.
I've been visiting the Sandpiper for years and I absolutely love it. The staff is fantastic, and the amenities are great. The rooms are always very clean, and being right on the beach is a huge plus. The off-season prices are quite reasonable. My only complaint is that they've recently started charging $20 per night for an extra vehicle. Since there were six of us—four adults and two teenagers—it’s quite difficult to manage with just one car. In previous stays, we never had to pay for an additional vehicle, so I think $20 a night is a bit steep. Just wanted to share my thoughts!
The resort boasts several pools with different sizes of water slides, along with an indoor pool that has a lazy river. Our kids absolutely loved it, as did we. They enjoyed the small arcade, the ice cream shop, and the miniature golf course. We would be more than happy to stay here again.
We will not be staying with the Sandpiper beacon again. This was our first stay here and it will most definitely be our last. We come to PBC twice a year and like to try new things and places out. I advise you to say clear of this one. We checked in andcame up to our room to check everything out, noticing the bedsheets and towels were stained and the shower needed a DEEP clean. We were only given towels to last one day? I called the front desk for more and I was told they?d be up to us in a few minutes-we never received them. I ended up using my personal beach towels to dry off with. The next day, I noticed there washousekeeping next to my room and asked them for a towel and was told rudely to ?call the front desk. That is not my job? I wentdown to the front desk and asked for towels AGAIN and asked when we would receive housekeeping and they said they do not offerit until check-out. (We were there for 5 nights.)We ended up having to take our own trash and dirty towels out because no oneprovided any service us. Fast forward to checkout day- we live close to 9hours away so we wanted to get a head-start. We went tothe lobby around 5am to checkout and she said there was no one to check for damages so we couldn?t get our $200 deposit backuntil someone checked. Overall, we are not pleased with this place in the slightest. I 1000 times recommend the ?Osprey on theGulf? if you?re looking for anywhere to stay. If you like dirty rooms and poor service-you?ve found the right place to stay.
My family and I vacationed there this past week. My husband and I usually come to Panama twice a year and always stay at the sandpiper beacon resort. My friends have booked a room twice with you all just off our recommendation. This past time though, wewere a little disappointed in things. I couldn?t get a blanket for my son to sleep with, we couldn?t get beach towels becausethey had ?run out ? of those too. The TV in one of the bedrooms quit working, the phone in the room never worked, the microwaveactually cooked things half way, and the bottom of the tub had chunks of material peeling off. The covering for the beds is arough material. The room smelled sour like vinegar. In sitting on the porch I had a great view of the ocean and got to smellpaint and listen to the workers redoing the outside of the 3rd floor room across the way. We were less than impressed. We paid1780$ for four nights in a bigger room than what my husband and I usually get when we don?t have the kids and we just didn?tfeel like it was worth it. We expected more and better. We have been coming to you all for four years. What a shame. Sent thisemail august 6 and no response..
