Their bartender gundu is quite the character. They serve all the craft Indian gins and beers you could want. They also have snacks in the evenings. Would recommend you try the eight finger Eddie IPA if you’re a beer person or the greater than gin with some tonic water really hits the spot. Coming to snacks, it’s proper Goan local eats like prawn rissoles, samosas, croquettes and chorizo’s. Craving for the prawn rissoles while I type this.
Must-visit for that old bar vibe. A place that's truly alive. Great for a few drinks of Feni with Kokum and light, homely snacks, and lots of laughs and chatter.
I came across this place through a random article I was reading online. On a whim, I decided to visit it! So on a Tuesday afternoon, post a movie at IFFI (the film festival that I was attending), I went to Joseph’s Bar. Let me tell you, the pictures do not do justice to the kind of vibe this place has. It was empty when I reached, but after a while people started coming in. I believe their evenings are the most lively! Although I was there during the day, I could easily imagine the bar coming to life in the evening! While I sat there, I ordered Susegado Mango Craft Beer. I’m not much of a beer person, but since this sounded interesting, I ordered it. It tasted quite nice (and not as strong), and if you have a taste for beer, I think you’ll like it. They had an amazing song collection playing in the background. Overall, I would rate this place as 4.5!
Joseph bar is a quaint bar in the bylanes of Fontainhas. Frequented by both tourists and locals. The place is small though and a bit cramped. They have good variety of beer and feni cocktails. Pricing is high compared to Goan standards.
Joseph bar!A drive in a roadside bar in fontainhas, amidst the old Portuguese colony is one of the oldest bars of goa. The whole setup will take you by awe as it emits typical goan feels! This old treasure will leave you with a nostalgic feel. I have tried the mango wheat craft beer by Sosegado, a little bland in taste but a good one for mild beer lovers. The bar is famous for its feni and is a must try here, although they serve a variety of beers!
