First of all, the food came out HOT! A simple measure a lot of places these days get wrong. The elotes were amazing! Perfectly seasoned, perfectly portioned. The rice was good, beans..a little bland, but not bad. Tacos were ???????????? I had the barbacoa tacos, did not regret it! Try this place out!
The birria tacos were generously filled with meat and cheese, and the dipping sauce was delicious, reminiscent of menudo broth—I nearly wanted to drink it straight by the end. The enchiladas were spot on, but be warned, they pack quite a punch! The server had mentioned the heat, but I was pleasantly surprised by the intensity, as the flavor was so exquisite that it was hard to stop eating. The horchata was also delightful, but fair warning: it’s so sweet that it might make you reconsider your life choices regarding sugar intake. As for the barbacoa taco, it was filled with tender barbacoa meat that reminded me more of the kind from Chipotle than from a traditional carneceria, yet it was still savory and satisfying, complete with all the right toppings. We will definitely be returning to this spot with the rest of our family.
I began visiting this restaurant when they were located in a gas station on Pioneer. As a chef, I truly appreciate seeing people follow their culinary passions, and the team here is no exception. Their tacos are full of flavor and expertly made. The beans that came with my meal were also delicious! As an added treat, I ordered the agua fresca and tried both the cantaloupe and watermelon flavors—definitely a great choice! Treat yourself and pay a visit to this small business!
We decided to check out this restaurant after seeing it recommended on Google, and it certainly lived up to the hype. Although we were a bit hesitant due to the lack of crowds, every dish we sampled was flavorful and delicious. The food had a lovely homemade quality that reminded us of authentic Mexican cuisine. Even the soda machine served drinks made with real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, which was a nice touch. The best part, though, was the pricing; all the taco plates were under $9 and they were quite generous portions. Overall, this spot is a fantastic little hidden gem offering high-quality food.
