The bread was fresh, crispy on the outside and chewy baguette on the inside and the filling was exceptional Parma ham, mozzarella and rocket finished with a light honey mustard dressing. I know you can say how can this be exceptional, but each ingredient was perfect on its on and together just made something special. I also tried the quiche Lorraine which was baked to perfection. Smoked bacon with light crumble savoury pastry and a rich creamy cheese filling yes that is what a quiche Lorraine is, but I’m failing to do justice to the explosion of intense flavours. The Vennoiserie looked spectacular and the different brioche were very tempting but instead I settled for a classic strawberry tartelette. Crispy pâtés au sucre with diplomat cream filling and fragrant strawberries on top. You can’t go wrong with this, but again it was made with love and care and was probably the best tartelette I’ve had for a long time (except for my own of course ; I want to back soon because they have lots more products to test I’ll probably need a couple of weeks of research there. I’ll have to jog it all off after though. Go there and go there now that’s an order ;
Most shops have just so-so good bread, but Maison Hect has a better formula, with warm baguettes throughout the day. Very popular for locals and lunch crowd. Quality is evidenced by empty shelves by evening closing, while shop across the street is still full. Most high compliments!
The pastries and cakes are good, fresh and recommendable but DO NOT spend your money on hot beverages here. I ordered a cappuccino and a café au lait and both were served on a small plastic cup (usually used for water) you pay close to a Starbucks price, get served 1/3 of the amount and have to drink it from a thin plastic cup. When I asked if they didn 't have proper mugs to serve a proper sized beverage the answer was: glass brakes and the size is like that (for real, they served me a cappuccino the size of a double espresso). Conclusion: yes, grab your croissant/pain au chocolat here but don 't waste your money in any hot beverage.
Had a pastry flaky dough and chocolate that was an actual heavenly experience! The lady was a little impatient because I could not speak French but the pastry made up for it in light years! This is a MUST TRY in Paris
We stayed at a hotel near by and walked there a few mornings to get our breakfast. We got a few different types of croissants, brioche and baguettes and everything was so fresh and tasty! So glad we didn't get breakfast buffet option at the hotel. This bakery is truly amazing!
