Basil Fawlty would seem more attentive than this waiter. We ordered a burger that was served raw and cold. The waiter took it back and served it once more still cold and raw. Yet it still costed us 14 euros... and now we need to find food to eat
This restaurant was just around the corner from our hotel- we knew it as La Batisse until I checked the bill. We were very surprised that on a Saturday night there were few customers. The food was actually OK as we had booked earlier in the day and had not seen how empty the place was. We were also very surprised and disappointed that despite offering breakfast the place did not open until after 10am even on the day that the Paris marathon was on just outside the restaurant! If it had opened at 8am on that day they could have cleaned up. We only had breakfast once here and it was a bit disappointing although the orange juice was freshly squeezed, but no croissants, only bread.
Being next to our hotel, we had a tea break. I choose Auvergant burger, quite tasteless. Minuscule tables, no table cloth, waiter lost in thought, high prices
The place is located very conveniently, service too was good and fast. But the food was nothing special, just the average stuff, though nicely presented.
The waiter was very friendly and was helpful to speak English, when he realized that we were struggling with French. He suggested a wine and the lasagne, which were both wonderful. It got packed very quickly and it was only him helping everyone! He was a superwaiter! helpful that it was right across from the Opera, as we were seeing the Ballet!
