La Cantine Des Tontons

We had happy enough to recommend la cantine des tontons, a French restaurant in old style. not only with the buffet of homemade appetizers and desserts, but also, the fantastic main course has not disappointed us at all! 18eu per ticket...for what, all that. I was amazed by her warm welcome, that is quite different from other French restaurants. they let us feel like home, just like dinner with opa and oma. our trip to paris would never be so wonderful if we did not fall from la cantine des tontons!

I like this place! in the grunde it is a buffet restaurant, but they must not waste food. you eat everything you can, but don't throw anything away. the variety of foods is sufficient and most dishes taste kind of Eastern Europe. there are many...Salads to choose. the desserts are fantastic. English is not only not-spoken, but also on. that is not beautiful, but the entire ambiente, decor and the older guy who leads the place are charming. I came back a few times and I'll be back!

It is a small, beautifully decorated and very cozy place. I was disappointed when I found out that this is the only one of the tonton restaurants that does not serve tartar, which was the main reason why I went there. but it wasn't bad at all. the decoration is very beautiful and the owner of the place very friendly. what is peculiar to this place is that there is no waiter to take their order. there is only a large buffet with many appetizers, salads, deserts and cheese. and of course a separate buffet with two or three main dishes. the main dishes in my case were meatballs or pork pieces with pasta or vegetables. they were okay, nothing special, but not bad. the ancestors and the deserts were generally good, not all, but as they have such a great variety to choose from them, some things will find that they like and some will not. they pay something like 25 euro (less when they go to lunch) for a full meal, which means they want as much as they want from anything on the buffet. so generally, if they are really hungry, they can have a good meal, they try many different things and leave them with a full like in a reasonable price. if they are looking for something refined and gourmet look, then this is not the place for them.

Plats au goût insipide. L'ambiance est très désagréable en arrivant , on se dit que c'e n'est qu'une impression , mais tout "s'alourdit" au fur et à mesure du repas . Le patron tient des propos très déplacés. soirée gâchée . lieu à fuir absolument

Rapport qualité-prix correct mais le patron et "la dame" sont exécrables et très familiers... pas du tout l'ambiance souhaité pour un repas entre amis
