Castel Cafe - Paris 7e Arrondissement

After all the day in beautifully fililles, I was in an urgent need of coffee: the train dropped me in champs de mars (near the ice tower) and the first thing I saw was this pretty caffe. I went in, and the guy welcomed. I was very nice, he asked me what I need, so I said I'm just going to have a coffee for those who leave. he pointed me to the cashier and went. Behind the theke was an Indian man, he saw me approaching him and the first thing he said was "Come on! what do you want? I was shocked by this manierism, but I thought it could be the difference in the speech. Some sound aggressive, but they don't really mean it. I stood there for a minute and said, "I want a cappuccino," he said, "okay, go over there! I'll show myself to the side of the counter. I was immediately upset by this treatment, but I'm not a confrontative person, and the place was filled with people, so I didn't want to make a scene. I gave him 10 euro and he gave me only two euro back, which means it was 8 euro for a cappuccino. I spent 8 days in paris and never paid so much for any kind of coffee. it is in the rule between 5 and 7 euro. he didn't give me a quitting or picked up something on the cash register, so I felt the price was improvised. even worse, the cappuccino tasted absolutely tasty. This time as a tourist, this was my only incident when I was lit in paris and treated terriblely. so terrible of them to hire this guy who doesn't know how to talk to men.

The service was excellent, and the food was the best we had during our entire trip in France. excellent everything! we had the French woof soup, which was completely authentic and at the end of our meal we had crêpes royale.

Advisory to all, do not ever ever visit this cafe at all cost! Their menu stated fixed price is a scam! They extort so called tips from customers forcefully. Given them cash and they refused to return the change citing mandatory tips for service! Food...is mediocre and service sux big time! Go read the Google reviews of the restaurant as well, apparently we are not the only victims, they have done these to many tourists! Shame of them! They should be reported to the local authority for unethical business and scam!

Be careful coming to this cafe. The owners are aggressive and keep your valuables close if you have to eat. It might get stolen by the staff.

Well, certainly the fries were not ultra hot and the croque gentleman a little light, but I had a good time in this brewery coffee. The servers were not unpleasant, on the contrary! I don't understand previous opinions. After, for the price : it's Paris Champ de mars !
