China Garden - Parksville

Hopefully this place has closed down by now. There have been health department warnings and instances of food poisoning. While some people have reported receiving decent food when ordering from the menu, it is best to avoid the buffet if you're feeling lucky.

My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. We visited for a quick lunch while in a rush, and I must say that the staff was indifferent and the buffet food was the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. The food was tasteless, not properly heated, and presented in a lackluster manner. It seemed like they were just going through the motions. We will definitely not be returning to eat there.

The staff at this restaurant can be quite rude, but more concerning are their health inspection reports, which are alarming. It seems that the management does not care about the conditions behind closed doors. I feel sorry for the unsuspecting customers who dine here without knowing the truth.

First visit to this establishment. We are not greeted by the waitress, with a long face, no smile sit anywhere . Personality of a NAT!! We ordered their War Wonton Soup the worst we have ever tasted. The broth looked like and tasted like dish washing water. Absolutely no flavor what so ever. We found in the bowl (plastic) four small shrimps, four pieces of broccoli/carrot slices (not crunchy, but almost raw), four slices of BBQ pork, some floating white chunk of stuff we could not identify and 10 won tons. Even at $5.95 it would not have been worth it, but they had the cheek to charge $13.95 for that SLOP!! Before leaving I checked out their Buffet. The restaurant opens at 11:30, we were there at 12:00 and the food in the buffet trays looked as though they were rewarmed from the night before, they were definitely NOT FRESH! Needless to say they will never see us again or our friends as we will pass on our experience. Sad, sad, sad!
