Driftwood Chinese Buffet - Parksville

Good food, friendly service, very reasonable prices. However the place looked closed and there was no welcome sign or open sign on the door. I wasn't the only person to second guess if the door was the entrance to the restaurant.

Food was OK. Buffet was topped up often. Staff is OK. Nothing overly exceptional, except perhaps the pineapple chicken, which was really good. The ginger beef was missing the heat, and the hot and sour soup was drab instead of spicy. I understand that the clients that they see might want the spice turned down, but I found that disappointing.

Got food poisoned by the place twice. Yes no strong evidence besides the fact those 2 times we ate there we felt sick once we got home or the very next morning. Specifically after eating from that place.

We have ordered from here several times, but never will again. There must be new owners. $7 delivery charge, was told they don't do dry garlic ribs, frozen veg in the chow mein, I could go on but they don't care and I won't waste any more time on them.

Fantastic fare, great service, very friendly.Met the chef ahwile back...takes so much pride in what he does...10 points!It's our go-to western Chinese cuisine stop!
