Small lovely branch of a New York burger chain at Sydney's second biggest CBD Parramatta. However found nothing fancy about it made my way to this burger point just to try it out. First things first I should say that the price is expensive ($18.50 for a large double cheese burger meal) especially considering that Parramatta food court offers value your bucks with huge variety of shops including all the major ones like McDonald's, Burger Kind and KFC. Double cheeseburger stands out with its beef petties and pickles, curly fries were average and old fashioned lemonade was a bit tasteless. They also offer hot dog for reasonable price that I would pay another visit to try it out but I don't think I would pay $18.50 once again for their burger!
Tastes just like the Nathans in new york city. I eat there every time im in parramatta. The chill chesse dog is the best.
I was expecting so much more. Nathan's Famous is a household name for a reason. Having tried them in the states, I was looking forward to a massive American meal complete with juicy burger and a plump dog. Sadly, that was not the case.I ordered the Chili Cheese Dog meal with crinkle-cut fries. Hubby ordered the Super Cheeseburger (Cheeseburger with the works) with Onion rings instead of fries. For starters, the size of the portions was a letdown. Nothing like American sizes at all. We were left wanting more. Secondly, my hot dog was woefully overcooked, looking and tasting just shy of a slim jim in color and texture. No signature snap of the hot dog here. Thirdly, the buns on both the burger and the hot dog were not warmed, room temperature at best, and were definitely not fresh. For me, the bun makes or breaks the burger/hotdog. And lastly, the fries were soggy. Very sad considering I had been looking forward to tasting them since they opened and I know how much better they can be.We went with some friends who had tried this Nathan's before and admitted it was just an off day for them, as the time before was way better. Well, for me, consistency is what builds your reputation. If you are going to give them a go, request a freshly cooked dog, not one of many that has been sitting and drying out on the flattop. Do try the dog bites (Small Kid Size Corn Dog) as they were spot-on with a crunchy coating and soft hot dog. Wish it was bigger though. Also good was the Old Fashioned Lemonade and the Crunchy Onion Rings. Overall, the flavour was there. Just needed that freshness to take it up to match the Original.
I went to this restaurant 6 months ago to dine in their private dining area during my lunch break, but unfortunately I did not get to eat that day.
