Stater Bros. Markets - Pasadena

I go to VONS in Arcadia, and the only employees who acknowledge my presence outside of the cashier are the subcontractors stocking their brand-specific products. And what cashiers!! The computer voice at the non-human checkout is just SO loving!! The manager just ignores me when I ask for a human cashier. I go to RALPH 'S in Temple City and I 'm treated to Union Quality employees openly standing around in small groups complaining about their job in front of customers, letting their language fly off the family-friendly scale. There is clearly No [Union Label] to look for on these employees!! 9/6/2023 I go to STATER BROS and I swear it 's like crossing over from the communist side of East Berlin into the FREE side of West Berlin before the wall was torn down! EVERY employee that laid even one eye on me said Good morning! and returned immediately to work with a smile. The sushi guys thanked me FOUR TIMES just for looking at their section. The cashier, the HUMAN cashier engaged me in conversation without making mistakes. I came in for some creamer, milk and chips, but when I left my wallet $100 lighter because of how GOOD I felt being a customer here. It 's not the employees fault! They have my favorite peach brandy that Vons Ralph 's stopped carrying. They have the exact same salmon lunch kits Ralph 's has for the same price. They were within $0.50 of the other shops prices on everything. And THEY ACTUALLY WANTED ME IN THEIR STORE! When have I ever seen that in Vons or Ralph 's? Never! (Well, to be fair, there was a manager at Ralph 's So. Pasadena named DUDLEY who did all the good things mentioned in this SB review. But the day after he retired, So.Pas became exactly like Temple City. This Stater Bros is 5 miles from my home. It 's a BOTHER to go so far to shop here! It 's not on my way home or to work. But if this customer service is just as good the next time I visit, I 'll cut up my points cards for Ralph 's Vons and switch completely to SB!

Today I purchased a rotisserie chicken dinner. The cook/cashier actually went the extra mile . He showed me the best chicken prepared the side and bagged it all up. I was pleasantly surprised. Great job Great food

I really want to acknowledge the courteous and awesome customer service that I received from Stater Bros today. Specifically Talia, for holding an item for me and making sure that I was taken care of. But quite honestly, every time I visit Stater Bros, you can readily tell that the management there handles everything very well. I really wish there was a Stater Bros closer to me near La Canada, but I don't mind making the extra trip. I LOVE IT!!!

A co-worker brought his lunch in his paper bag. He also had chocolate rice krispy treats. He had 4 of them inside his bag, he gave me one. I asked him which market had these treats? He told me he bought it from Amazon. I checked Ralphs and Vons and they don't carry chocolate rice krispy treats. Then I searched instacart, and they said Stater Bros had them in stock. Today, I came by this Stater Bros, but they only had one and it was the last one because it said on the shelf that this was a discontinued item. I feel lucky, I bought the last one. Unfortunately, if you want to buy chocolate rice krispy treats, you're going to have to buy it from Amazon.

My new favorite market! Prices and quality are good. Customer service outstanding. Great selection. You find interesting and unusual items you didn't expect. In a side note-the beautiful and tasty shrimp cocktail I bought impulsively was excellent, until about midnight where it had me up all night and into the next day with cramps and trips to the bathroom. Needless to say I'll be avoiding them in the future.
