Grill House - Paterson

My experience was honestly underwhelming. To start, the setup is very strange. Grill House is set back a bit and separated from the rest of the storefronts, and the inside almost looks like you're in someone's house, with the random furniture and setup of the tables, and it's like its own building, not attached like the other stores. I guess that could be nice and comforting, to feel like you're in someone's home having a meal, but they need to work on the ambiance because the way it is right now is a bit awkward and dark. There was not one other person in there the whole time we were there. That was a major red flag to me, although it was during Ramadan when people were breaking their fasts so maybe everyone was at the buffet-style restaurants. The only reason we ended up here actually was because we came from NY and didn't make it in time for the buffets, which were almost entirely depleted by the time we got there. We ordered hummus, and a beef and chicken kebab platter with rice. The food took a little time to come out. The hummus itself was pretty good. The bread/pita was warm but it seemed like the Aladdin brand kind from a bag, not freshly made. The chicken itself had good texture and consistency but the spices they used were strange, I've never tasted that before. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it was a bit buttery or something, and didn't have as much flavor as I was expecting. The beef was a bit dry and lacking some flavor as well. The rice was also lacking some flavor and the texture/consistency wasn't great, in my opinion- it wasn't al dente, and slightly oily. Another thing I didn't really like was that we had to ask for water, and they gave us bottled water. I didn't want to pay extra for bottled water, I just wanted regular tap in a glass with ice. The prices seemed around average to slightly high for what we got. Being that it seems like this is a family owned business with husband and wife, I hope their business improves and that people give them another shot.

This experience was horrible . My stomach was aching for days. The restaurant was not clean and so was the kitchen and bathroom. The restaurant had an odd smell. And the furniture isn’t clean at all. And whenever a costumer came in they left immediately. The food tasted good but the aftermath was not worth it.

I regularly come grabbing some food in this spot. I loved the fast customer service and well cooked food. They never disappoint.

Just had a delicious dinner tonight. Their beef shawarma is the best beef shawarma I ever had in USA. Also the service is great. The place is fabulous.

Amazing food! Friendly staff..... seafood dishes made fresh. Every single plate of the 5 plates we ordered was unparalleled. We drove from Delaware and just picked it at random, now I know we will make the trip again. We have never had such a wonderful dining experience!
