Authentic clothes, many Mexican hubbub hanging on the walls. Meals were again moderate and different from last visits overpriced. A much better option is just a few doors down on the same block, a restaurant called Meraki.
Not safe for tourists, better doubling when you use a credit card, I asked to refund the fee in Pesos, and by 'mistake' it charged in USD and refused to refund the account or even share the explanation. They claimed it didn't happen. Nos robaron, 20.000 Pesos y se negaron a regresarlos y ofrecer el estado de cuenta. Tengan mucho cuidado si utilizan tarjetas extranjeras.
Oh, my God, what can I say? The smells from the long hallway that led to this cozy restaurant were enough to pull us in. Our guide from the day before had said it was one of his favorite spots, but unfortunately it closes early (7pm) so that we returned the next day. Clay-Terrine broke on open fire and the flavors were amazing. Stews, pig, chicken, beef and even Venison and Armadillo were slowly sprinkling. The only thing better than the smell was the food once it was delivered. Fantastic! I'm sure there's no bad record on the menu. Many of the dishes are prepared two ways - traditionally or with new innovations. We chose traditional pork in Mol and a Chile Relleno and both were excellent. Although we leave tomorrow at noon, we want to skip breakfast and drive back there before departure. Also the service was excellent – even a funny incident where a cook went out after my wife's meal, because he did not believe that her rice was hot enough. He quickly corrected the situation and we enjoyed our meals immensely. In addition to quality, prices are incredibly reasonable. If you come to Patzcuaro, this little jewel is a must!!!
Great local menu in a family run place. The owners have 100s of certificates recognising their contribution to local cuisine. All dishes we had were authentic and tasty. Each plate is 3-5 US$ so it's great value if you want to get stuck into the local fare!
Albóndigas y café de olla. El nombre del lugar hace honor al sabor, muy ricos, no le la pienso en volver.
