"The BBQ here is surprisingly decent for a small town close to the border. Given the location and prices, I would definitely consider returning if I'm nearby and in the mood for BBQ. The cost per person is around $10 to $20. I would rate the food a 3 out of 5, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 2. I recommend trying the Brisket Plate, Sandwich, and the Brisket Sandwich."

I inquired whether the sausage was homemade, and they informed me it was Opa's brand. I ordered a two-meat plate with fatty beef and chicken, but was told they could only offer a chicken plate with a quarter pound of brisket, which I decided to go with. The fatty beef was tender, but unfortunately, the fat hadn’t rendered properly, making it inedible. It also lacked a smoke ring, smoke flavor, and seasoning. On a positive note, the chicken skin was delicious, crispy, and well-seasoned, although the meat itself was a bit dry, even the dark meat. The creamed corn was excellent, while the beans were somewhat salty and not to my taste, though they were tender. They forgot my silverware, so I had to request it. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly. Considering Lockhart as the gold standard, I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars. Food: 3, Service: 3, Atmosphere: 5.
