Scholte House Museum Gardens - Pella

Docents were a bit uninformed. But still an interesting history of a founding father of Pella and father of relocating reformed Baptist from the Netherlands to the US under religious persecution.

We visited over the weekend and had a fantastic experience. My wife and I tend to ask a lot of questions, and the incredibly kind and knowledgeable woman at the entrance spent about 20-30 minutes chatting with us, not just about the house but also about the history of Pella. We were fortunate to be the only guests at the time, allowing us to take our time strolling through the house and reading the many informative plaques displayed throughout. The house itself was beautifully maintained and clearly well cared for. We discovered numerous fascinating artifacts from Scholte and his family, gaining a deeper understanding of the town’s founders. Overall, we had a wonderful time, and the admission price was definitely worth it for anyone seeking an enjoyable and educational experience.
