This restaurant is located at the Big Sky Golf Club. I had the fish and chips. For $17, you get French fries, 1 piece of beer battered haddock fish, cole slaw and a dill remoulade similar to tartar sauce). The fish was moist but the batter could have been crisper. The fries were not piping hot; just warm. I was disappointed there was only 1 piece of fish for the price. I also had a bite of the Pemberton beet salad – beets, maple roasted walnuts, goat cheese, mixed greens with a citrus vinaigrette. The salad was tasty. There are 2 sizes – 1/2 order for $10.75 and the full order for $15.25. My spouse shared the Chicken parmigiana $23.75) with her friend. The chicken parmigiana had a large portion of deep fried chicken breast topped with a marinara sauce. The chicken was served with penne pasta in a rosé sauce. The chicken looked moist. I had a taste of the penne which tasted okay. In my opinion, slightly on the expensive for the serving size. We also had the Margherita flat bread $16) with San Marzano tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella and basil. Nothing spectacular but still tasted okay. Notes and Tips • Daily drink and dinner specials • Burger prices are comparable to other restaurants • Check out the company website • We were there on a Thursday evening and the dining room and patio was basically empty except for about 10 other customers • We sat out on the patio and had a view of the golf course and the mountains • The last time I was at the Big Sky Golf Club was 9 years ago when I attended a wedding
We have eaten at Fescues several times over the years. Last night was their best ever. The specials were great Pastas. The selections offered plenty of choices. The service was excellent and of course the views well a beautiful golf course back dropped by a stunning Mt Currie.
The restaurant charges a much higher price for their wine compared to what you can find at a liquor store. For example, an Oyster Bay which costs $19.99 at the store is sold for $61 at the restaurant.
Fescues is apparently open for the first time in winter this year. The golf course is blanketed in snow and being used for cross country skiing! Upon arrival, we passed through a grand gated entrance and took a short drive through the snowy path to reach the clubhouse. The exterior seemed a bit plain, but the interior was inviting and cozy. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. With only around ten tables, the atmosphere was intimate and welcoming.
