Decor and nostalgia makes this place a cool unique spot to visit and relax in the Northwoods. The ice cream is excellent with over 10 flavors to choose from plus toppings. Would definitely be back again (but would only order ice cream or coffee).
Brooklyn, is very friendly and accommodating. The ice cream shop needs to be opened longer on Saturday and Sunday nights! closed at 8pm. :

What an incredible stay! Booked 2 days and had to add another. Very relaxing and comfy! The Blackened Salmon with hollandaise, the garlic mashed and the veggies we off the charts! Ice Cream Parlor with charm featured Barking Pretzel which was amazing! The chef even created the a work of art as we split the meal! Ah yeah can't forget a nice round of golf, walks and a dip in the pool! Need to unplug? This would be a great choice!
The problem is that they are under staffed. I'm not sure you can fault those who are here and are working. I'm not even sure you can fault management if they are trying and can't find folks to hire. The bottom line is this needs to be corrected. The restaurant itself is lovely . There is a porch with a beautiful view and inside dining with a fireplace. The people who are working are doing their best to provide good service, but they are stressed and you can tell it.The menu is nice. The food is fine, but not exceptional. You get the sense that people are being stretched. We had appetizers: duck wontons, crab cake and dumplings. The dumplings were terrific. The crab cake was huge. The duck wontons were light on the duck. It's hard to recommend this place and yet the potential is there..
