Approximately 40km from central Porto one finds Esquilo restaurant in Penafiel.A modern delightful restaurant offering a comprehensive, modern and exciting a la carte menu with daily chef special recommendations in addition. Beautiful food presentations throughout our lunchtime visit comprised couvert, starters, mains and desserts. Delicious, high quality and well cooked food at all levels with friendly and efficient service. An extensive excellent wine list complimented the food offerings. Delicious Portuguese coffee finalised the meal.In summary great, delicious food, efficiently served in a nice modern chique surrounding at reasonable prices. Definitely one for the record to revisit next time in Porto.

Nice place to spend time with friends. Good quality and quantity food. Waiters very nice, polite . Very well explained food options. Waiters do come every so often to make sure you are ok. And refill drinks

I've been in this restaurant last year and... WOW. I've tried the alheira(sausage) with goat cheese and the sweet duck. It's kind of regular food presented as a gourmet dish, and... THEY MADE IT, they really made it! That is the proof that you don't need truffles and that kind of expensive ad-dons to cook and present a proper dish. This place will make your mouth and eyes explode of pleasure. Keep up the good work.
