What to expect: This is a casual neighborhood/passerby restaurant on the main strip through town. It is not fast food. I did receive my order in 12 minutes. The atmosphere is relaxed with black and white or sepia photos of old western movie stars… although I did see a Clint Eastwood photo… I am not that old. . It appears to be a bit of a local spot too. This diner is located close to hiking and most notably Death Valley. About the Food: I expected something a little higher end to be completely transparent. The venison burger I received was a bit strange in texture, possibly freezer burned a little. I did not finish my onion rings, everything just seemed fast food or frozen type food. I’d love to see a place like this make a dish or two for a signature taste and feel. Unfortunately this was not what “The Typical Tourist” should expect. Absolutely loved the decor, there’s nothing better than paying homage to historic figures in the way Mt Whitney Restaurant does. It is convenient, needs work on food, at least the burger. You will get great personable service when you sit down, in that area, home run.
They have a sign by the front door that says Warm beer, bad food, lousy service At least they 're honest
