The Cafe at Large - Pender Island

Years ago this was the best service (Megan rocked), coffee and pastry on the islandNowadays you can get better espresso from the machine on the ferry.

They have a large selection of baked goods, but the sandwiches and wraps are average and there are no fresh soups, so this place hardly cuts as a lunch

Best food ever from a food truck...fresh and gourmet with an awesome chef at the helm. No disappointments here!!!

Try the grilled cheese sandwich. They fry it on the side too.Very classy. Lots of cheese and thick bread. The only thing I could say would be to add a second pickle. That would take it from a 9.5 to a 10 out of 10.

We stopped at The Cafe while visiting the winery - even when it was raining, it was an amazing way to spend the afternoon. The food is PHENOMENAL - we ordered the salmon burger, the fish tacos, and the poutine. The poutine, although a Canada classic, had a thick, mushroom gravy that perfectly paired the fries. The Salmon burger was served on a sourdough bun, which makes me never want to eat a regular bun again.
