Overcooked to the point of inedible. Absolutely frazzled in the microwave or similar, grey rock hard hash browns , bacon looked well done and was like plastic, sausages dry hard, the mushroom was the texture of plastic, seriously never seen anything like it. Bacon sausage rock hard, we ate the egg beans and a piece of toast. Tables were left piled with dirty. Crockery, service was awful despite a small amount of effort made. This so let down the Booths brand. I paid 23 pounds and I’m disappointed to say, never ever again. The coffee was nice. The cafe was busy, I have honestly no clue why other than service was dire. Needed to get back to work so had no time to complain, I just voted with my feet.
A year later and no improvement. Adhoc staffing, no consistency amongst the staff. Usually one person serving as well as making the coffee… leading to pointless waiting and no acknowledgement. Still stale cakes served at times… soo poorly managed and organised.
Avoid because they use Parking Eye scum for their parking. Cannot believe Booths are working with these cowboys to rip off their customers if they go 10 20 minutes over their 2 hour limit which is ridiculous when you have a cafe. How can you do a food shop and have a nice lunch with a friend in two hours?!
Avoid this restaurant at all costs! They did not have bacon or avocado as advertised, and when it came time to pay, I realized I didn't have a loyalty card and was overcharged for everything. The staff neglected to clean the table from the previous customers, and there was no table service. The staff showed complete indifference and the entire place looked dirty, as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. I am thoroughly disgusted and will not be returning. I urge others to go elsewhere and avoid the same disappointing experience.
My wife I visit the Booths restaurant at least once a week. The coffee is always first class. On our most recent visit, Tuesday 27th September, our drinks were once again perfect, and to go with mine I asked for a 'well done ' bacon sandwich, which when it came was about as good as it could possibly have been. Crispy bacon, just as requested, and a beautifully soft, fresh white bap. I have always found the staff to be very friendly, both upstairs in the restaurant and downstairs in the store itself. Thank you Booths, and well done.
