My husband ended up waiting almost ten more minutes before we had to say something again, and he finally received the chopsticks. Most of the food was now cold, and when he tried the lemon chicken, it was hard and dry to the point that he couldn't even pierce it with his fork. We informed the server, who then sent another staff member over to ask what the problem was. When we showed her the chicken, she claimed it was hard because it was an end piece. My husband picked up a piece from the center to demonstrate that it was also hard and accidentally dropped it; it hit the floor with a loud thud because it was so tough. The staff member seemed annoyed and walked away. When we received the bill, they had only taken off a measly $3. Anyone who knows my husband and me knows we usually tip at least 40%, but we left without tipping due to the terrible service and the disrespect we experienced, especially with the food being so unsatisfactory.
I ordered takeout and was told it would take 40 minutes, which I was fine with. However, when I arrived 45 minutes later, my order wasn't ready, and I had to wait another 20 minutes, making it over an hour in total. Back in 2021, the price for a four-item combo was $11.50, but today it cost me $15.50—a 35% increase in just three years, and that’s without the soup that used to come with it. The woman who took my order wasn't rude, but it was clear she wasn't very invested in her job and seemed distracted. It's really disappointing; this place used to be fantastic. After 30 years of dining here, this may be my last visit.
I ordered take out. I looked online and saw a picture that showed the golden fountain chow mein and it had noodles. So that's what I ordered. Only to find out that it is all sprouts no noodles. I did go back and took a closer look at the menu and there is a difference between chicken chow mein and the golden fountain chow mein. That was my fault. I ordered chicken chow mein. Pork ried rice, general chicken 5 spring rolls and fried shrimp. The food tasted over salted I do understand that Chinese food is loaded with sodium but this was extreme. Everything seemed to lack flavor expect the spring rolls. The general chickn tasted just like the sweet and sour sauce. I just spent over $60 for a diner that I didn't even like. I was told 20 min I got there almost 30 min later and still had to wait 10 min for my food. I will say the lady working there was nice.
Food is always high quality, very friendly servers too I recommend going at odd hours
Food was decent though not fantastic. I guess it’s a decent place for Chinese food. Portion was a little too huge for the average Asian appetite (could feed two person).
