Atlas Oyster House - Pensacola

This is a fantastic restaurant featuring outdoor seating by the marina. They serve excellent sushi, and their oysters are definitely a highlight.

I chose Atlas for my anniversary dinner based on the positive reviews I’d seen for both this restaurant and its sister establishment, The Fish House. As someone who loves gourmet cuisine, I had high hopes for our meal. Unfortunately, when the food arrived, it was mostly bland. While the presentation was delightful, the flavors left much to be desired. The California rolls, although made with fresh ingredients, were tasteless. My shrimp entree was also underwhelming, despite appearing fresh. The highlight of the meal was a small salad of spring greens, which featured a delicious dressing. I was excited to try the gouda cheese grits, but they too lacked flavor. On a positive note, the waitstaff was knowledgeable, attentive, and eager to ensure our satisfaction. I hope this was just an off night for the chef, and I’m willing to give Atlas another chance, given the many great reviews of this gourmet restaurant.

Great atmosphere and design selection with locals on Hahn. The best of the bay at dinner. Volcano Chicken Jets for App and Grits á Ya recommend. Tonnes of other large seafood.

I was in the mood for seafood with a view and Atlas delivered both. I came with my niece and we shared the seafood plate, 1/2 dozen bakers and a dozen raw oysters. So we had oysters three ways and they melted literally in my mouth. The plate also contained groupers and shrimps that were cooked for perfection. The weather was nice so it was a perfect night to sit outside and enjoy the view and the bay breeze. I loved that the stands that we are far enough away from each other that you did not feel crowded to make Atlas a wonderful place for an intimate dinner.

Always bomb! The oysters, grits and roasted green tomatoes are always good. The last two times I was, I had the black grouper and it was a lot salty. Hushpuppies are meh, not ingenious, not terrible.
