Capitol Restaurant - Penticton

A simple, old-fashioned place with just good food. A Greek touch to most of the offerings (since it's a Greek owner I guess that makes sense). Quality is excellent and quantity/speed nice. We sat outside and enjoyed it.

Ordered a Greek salad and it was huge, fresh and tasty. Asked if the turkey was real and waiter said yes. Ordered the seniors portion and the wait was worth it. Fresh and it was tasty, gravy was great too. Potatoes nice and warm and carrots cooked just right. For dessert if you are a rice pudding fan, this is the best rice pudding in all of pentiction. Overall service was great and the best food around home cooked. Well worth the time to go and have a nice dinner.

Had a delicious hot turkey sandwich from their traditional Canadian cafe fare. No hipster diner irony or nostalgia, the real deal. The turkey is obviously cooked whole by them. And lovely people who have owned the restaurant for decades make you feel very welcome and glad you came.

I often come here and have the legendary "Capitol Burger" (or the veal cutlets!), but now and then I get in a classical Hellenic mood, and go for one of the Souvlaki platters. Can't go wrong with this choice: perfect EVERYTHING in this dish! Just bring your appetite, as it's a sizable portion,and you will want to have room for the included dessert...

I have come to the Capitol Restaurant many times and every time I do the experience is marvelous. I recently visited Penticton this holiday season in 2016 and it is just as good as ever. The service from all the staff is amazing and they are very personal and kind to their clients, and they even remembered me from months prior. Their menu has great variety, with plenty of contemporary dishes as well as classic Greek meals. The portions are very large and you get a lot for your dollar, unlike many other restaurants these days which give tiny portions and leave you with giant bills. You will leave the Capitol with your stomach full and a feeling of satisfaction that you got your money's worth.I highly recommend their Beef souvlaki or their Lasagna, they are my favourite! Many of their meals come with a salad/soup and a dessert (try the homemade rice pudding!). Big value for your dollar and you get amazing Greek food that you can't get anywhere else. Highest Recommendation. You don't find places like this anymore.
