This restaurant is located at the top of two ski lifts at the pisten in valberg. it has a beautiful view from the terrace I had the assiette disassembly that had a very large plate of cheese, wood charcoal, pickles and brot for 12.50... euro good value for a mountain restaurant and the quality was appropriate (although I had similar dishes of better quality in some Italian mountain restaurants). the staff was more friendly than average for such places. coffee was very good.
I find it strange that this restaurant 4. of 29 restaurants in valberg square. this indicates that there is a top place for a good culinary experience in this winter and summer mountain resort. it's not that easy. let me just put the plate straight: this is quite a good mountain restaurant and is in order if everything they want is in the sun on a large terrace after a morning ski (or, for non-skiers, after a pleasant trip on the sessel lift - accessible to non-skiers. but if they are looking for a culinary experience, this is not the place to go. certainly the staff were friendly and welcoming (it was outside the season when I was here, so relatiw calm, but the experience is more snack-ish than gastronomic. it is a half-self service restaurant: they choose their table, order and pay at the counter, and take their drinks with them. you will eat your table, but served on a plastic floor with paper plates. Seasoned and sauces are also helpful. the menu is usually filled brot and (Italian-sausage-and-chips' type, usually with a mountain aroma (cheese, charcuterie, etc). the court of the day when I was there a huh, reblochon and potato burger with chips was quite acceptable and good worth, but it would not try to get out of my way just to eat here. barely gastronomic! house wine (only at the crippled completes the creepy feeling. I really do not intend to criticize this restaurant: it is what it is and it does, what it does acceptable well, but is it really the 4th best restaurant in valberg? not in my book – the ranking is very misleading. number one (from two restaurants on the pisten in valberg? yes! but the 4th best in valberg? in no case! (open from 9 o'clock until closing the pisten, so no dinner. toilets clean. many tables inside when the weather is going to end.
We drove in March 2013 in valberg. the conditions were pretty bad. huge winds and lots of snow in the face, so that this restaurant was a got to send. the staff was very friendly. the food was very cheap and the suppe was nice. Soup...and brothaufen for 3,50 euro is pretty good by mountain standards. waffeln (belts) were excellent with warm nutella mmmm. they have a series of pizzas, crepes, waffeln, but also more serious dishes. all in all an excellent place for coffee/hot chocolate/lunch
We skied in Valberg in March Conditions were pretty bad. Violent winds and lots of snow in the face so finding this restaurant was a God send. The staff were very welcoming. The food was very reasonably priced and the soup was lovely. Soup...and hunk of bread for euros is pretty good by mountain standards. Waffles (goffres) were excellent with warm Nutella mmmm. They have a range of pizzas, crepes, waffles, but also more serious dishes. All in all, an excellent place for coffee/hot chocolate/lunch
