This is a nice casual bar with a small outdoor patio, a pool table, and most wonderfully… an atmosphere that invites you to strike up a conversation, either with the group you came with, strangers at the bar, the friendly staff, or Mark Rhodell himself. Come here for a wide array of excellent beer made on the premises, or enjoy a hurricane, a gin tonic, a rye coke, or any of several excellent scotch whiskeys on hand.

It's important to note that this brewery does not offer food, so if you're looking to dine, this isn't the place for you. Housed in a former factory, it's situated right in the heart of downtown, close to the river. The interior is nicely designed, providing ample space for large groups and gatherings. The focus here is solely on the beer, priced around $6 a pint. We sampled several varieties, and each was enjoyable enough to warrant a return visit. The standout was the Midwest Wheat, a delightful wheat ale. For those who prefer something fruity and sweet, there's also a Blueberry Cream Ale available. As a long-standing local brewery, it seems to be thriving and is a popular venue for events like wedding receptions and other celebrations. Their selection includes IPAs, sours, and stouts among various options. While there’s no kitchen, patrons are welcome to bring in food from outside, making it a flexible spot for enjoying drinks with friends.

The selection of local beers is excellent, and the bartenders are consistently friendly and knowledgeable. However, the absence of a kitchen is a significant drawback.

We visit this place every time we come to Peoria. They consistently offer a fantastic selection of beers, and their lineup is always rotating. This visit, we sampled the Kiwi Strawberry Blonde, the Watermelon Wheat, and the Blueberry Cream Ale. All three were excellent, but we ended up taking home a growler of the Blueberry Cream Ale—it was absolutely amazing!
