La Cepa - Pereira

This is a very small restaurant in Pereira and happened to walk with some friends looking for a place to eat. Originally we went to Mexican food, but were not impressed by the menu or look. We went from La Cepa, but one of my friends is Spanish and a little snob when it comes to tapas. We decided not to eat in the Mexican place and walked by La Cepa again, so I looked out on TripAdvisor and Facebook and both had given it 5 star reviews I had never seen before. I insisted we eat there and try. WOW, Even my Spanish tapas snobby friend was really impressed! This is a little Gem i Pereira and I recommend someone to GO THERE!!!! It's phenomenal!

I came to Pereira for two days, and it happens that my hotel had problems with my reservation, so I had to change to another one. And the other hotel is located directly on the side of La Cepa. So I decided to do it for lunch. Wow. That's all I can say. I am now, on my second day, at night, with some wine and some tapas while I write this review just before I return to the airport to my city. La Cepa is a very small place (compared to other restaurants), but its ambience, its music, decoration and, especially food and service are very good. In these days I tried red tuna, Patapas bravas, meet balls in Spanish sauce, Spanish chorizo, shrimp brochette and my favorite of all: grilled squids with homemade pepper sauce... Everything was really good (as I did lunch and dinner two days in a row at this place). I do not know other places in the Pereira (last time I came to this city about 15 years ago), but in any case La Cepa is a place you need to visit when in the city. My recommendation, sit on the terrace and enjoy it slowly with a good wine.

I find it ideal for the night, to be able to take something light, or going several different things and all prove everything. Good value price
