Amazing collection of fine local food, with our charismatic host Francis Delpey. We had such a wonderful time with Mr. Delpey. He is an amazing chef and a trip to Perigueux is incomplete without a visit to Mr. Delpey.
I was very well received, I arrived at 3 p.m. and the boss kindly agreed to serve me despite the late hour, the products are delicious (fresh strawberry juice to die for) and the setting lovely. A little expensive, but home-made and very good quality products.
We stumbled across this bistro when we smelled the mushrooms (local cepes) being cooked outside this nice little restaurant in a pretty square with outside seating and they were so delicious we came back half an hour later to try some more! There're just a few dishes of the day to choose from on the chalk board but they were local, authentic and most importantly tasty, in an animated setting, a nice little find.
M. Delpy's unique little restaurant serves super dishes laced with truffles and ceps. Omelettes wonderful. Rice oh so good. And picks lovely wines from Bergerac as well as high quality Bordeaux. Few tables inside so book in inclement weather. Do not expect comfortable seating though and M. Delpy has firm views on who merits his attention. Rugby helps to break the ice !
