Average food and décor. Noisy inside with chairs that are dragged across the wooden floor and cannot be lifted easily. They have a max of 4 starters and 4 mains courses to choose from with nothing special. Expensive as well at +/- 25 € for the mains. Veal liver was about 120 Grams and was covered with salad and my duck was with some dried tagliatelli. We would not go back.
Excellent food, kind service, enjoyable for couples and for friends, well placed by the river. Just the perfect place for a night out in Perpignan.
We walked around most of Perpignan looking for something other than a tourist pizza place and voila the Le Vauban. Beautifully decorated Art Nouveau restaurant serving really good French food. Which on the surface shouldn't surprise anyone as Perpignan is in France BUT the perennial pizza, pasta and steak tourist rubbish has invaded even in France. We chose the menu du jour two nights running and we were delighted each time. Often the same ingredients but treated differently each night reflecting the quality of eating what is in season and NOTshipped half way around the world to suit a static menu.Service was warm and friendly and they were very understanding of my shocking French!Yum.
Enjoyed a very pleasant plât de jour today at Le Vauban. Wonderful little pork medallions grilled to perfection, with green salad, a very fancy "stuffed" potato and an individual take on a ratatouille-type accompaniment. With a litre bottle of Badoit and two coffees the meal came to 28 euros, which I thought very reasonable considering the quality and location, right in the centre of the town. Very friendly service too.
