Waiting the staff is friendly and after you were here regularly, they remember you. If you drive rt. 51 in Perryopolis keep a piece of homemade cakes they are famous (at least for anyone who had it) and cup really good coffee. You're back.
For years, I've been driving from Randall's (the route 51 to Pittsburgh for baseball card shows or flipper tournaments), I've always said, "You know you have to stop sometime." Well, last December I finally managed to do it and have been there regularly since then! The cabbage rolls are the second best I ever had and the onion rings are amazing! There are fresh baked goods and waiting staff is amazingly friendly, friendly and helpful. You can't go wrong at Randall! It's just like I'm doing it!
Just like house cook! I was in Randall's restaurant COUNTLESS times, usually after church on Sunday afternoon, with people from the church. Our minister is very popular and with good reason. It's just an old fashion, family operated, home cooking ' type of place with modest prices, large portion sizes and good food. Nothing beautiful not the decor, not the friendly waiting staff, not the menu, and this is certainly reflected in the clientele who pack this place on Sundays. (There is a waiting area with twenty chairs, and there are usually people sitting in these chairs when we arrive... Only about everyone I know who lives in the Mon Valley, there are many, many times, so I feel quite privileged to have discovered the place not to be out of this area. The specials are the way to go, and most of us take our desserts home with us because there is no room anymore. As far as our favorites go, there are some. The cabbage rolls are made the old-fashioned way, and they are as good as you find everywhere. I am very impressed by the fried chicken that made it perfect. My son's favorite is the pork carving, and he really loves the shed potatoes. I also enjoy the Swiss steak. It did the way I like it, just like my mom did it earlier. And sometimes when I feel a little decadent, I get her delicious Jello salad as an appetizer. I know a lady who always orders the onion rings because they are brilliant and she just wants to share them with everyone. There are not one million decisions on the menu, but everything we had was well prepared and enjoyable, especially in view of the prices. Every time I went out of Randalls, I had a good feeling about the place and the people who run it. It is secret, and much of what's on the menu I think comfort food. If you drove 51 South and saw a little space with a full parking space that doesn't really see how much from the outside, then you have seen Randall 's. Be glad you did it!
Randall's is a wonderful little diner in my hometown and at any time I have to eat here. The prices are inexpensive and I love the daily specialties... especially the soups. You always have several types of homemade cakes so save some space!
Nice little home cooking place/diner. This place is great. Always crowded. Have been a few times and the soups and deserts are homemade and wonderful! Save room for that desert because you really get a full sized meal. Have had hot dogs which are good to many other home town meals and all have been good. The soups are so good I usually get a cup! Next time just soup and desert since could not get a desert after having soup and sandwich.
