We had been to Slackoni's when they were in Carleton Place. This was our first time since they came to Perth. We were served by two very pleasant young waitresses. The decor is quite nice. We sat inside and had a great view of Stewart Park and the Tay River. The lunch menu had several interesting items. There were 3 of us. We all enjoyed what we had. We saw the dinner menu and will certainly return to try items on it. The prices were quite reasonable. They have a good wine list. Our only knock is that it took a while for our food to come despite the fact that they were not busy at all. Fortunately we were in absolutely no rush. The restaurant was certainly a pleasant surprise, especially given how small a town Perth is.
I am sad to announce our meal was a big disappointment last Friday evening. The waitress went out of her way by going to the grocery store to buy tomato juice for a Virgin Mary which is able ad beyond although I thought tomato juice was a prerequisite for all bars. We sat outside on th patio and quickly noticed how shabby the stage was and the furniture was very wobbly especially for my husband who is a big man. I was really looking forward to a good Caesar salad but it arrived with stale lettuce and the salad was less than mediocre. Allan's meal was good though not hot, he had the seafood linguine while my spaghetti which was served in a nice hot dish was "warmish" and the meatballs were hard ad not at all tasty. I know I will sound very negative and while I really did not enjoy my meal, I was also surprised at the dress code of the waitresses. Ours was wearing worn out black Tom shoes and a dress that was too small and another had an incredibly short skirt with boogies. Wondering if the management does not clarify what is and is not appropriate. The icing on the cake was the musician who arrived to play was wearing dirty clothes. I would not recommend this restaurant until they get there act together.
Had supper there while a guest at the hotel. Wonderful meal freshly prepared with fresh ingredients. Staff graciously allowed us to share one meal with no extra cost. Music for the evening was not to loud and suited the venue. Will return again.. Ate breakfast as well which was good and abundant.
I booked this venue for Brunch for 30 the morning after my daughter's wedding because many guests were staying at the hotel. Everyone enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service. Thank you to the staff for taking such good care of our guests.
