Would rate 5 stars if HappyCow allowed it! This is one of our regular spots. The restaurant is lovely and they have so many vegan options: soups, sides, mains, sushi, dessert and tasty fusion dishes like haggis futomaki! The food is delicious and the staff are friendly.
Clearly marked vegan options and loads of choice. Excellent service. Had okonomiyaki and haggis futomaki and both were delicious. A little pricy, but definitely worth it. Open Monday and Tuesday too, which seems to be rare here! Sadly they couldn't do the vegan pb&j maki desert due to lockdown, and the brownie cake was not to my taste (it's more like a dense cheesecake than brownie).
We had an utterly delicious meal here. Started with vegan okonomiyaki, which I have never seen before, then ramen and katsu curry, finishing up with orange sorbet. The vegan and veg options are clearly labelled as such, and the service was great. NB they do not serve alcohol.
You don't go to Scotland and have Japanese food, but I'm so glad I did. everything was cooked to perfection and the aromen was a joy. as vegetarian I had so many possibilities, of which refreshing was to choose the Haggis balls were a unique product and super delicious. I know I'll return to Koku when I come back to Scotland.
