Tucked away in the corner of the loch. Some seating inside, outside and blankets on the edge of the loch excellent views. Minimal menu but excellent quality. Both cheese and fruit scones amazing. Bacon roll excellent too. Hot and cold drink choices are good too.
What a find. The Paperboat is a beautiful cafe situated on Loch Tay. We visited on a gorgeous summers day and sat outside on the balcony. The cheese scones were the best i have ever tasted and i have eaten a lot of them!! The menu is simple but everthing on there is done to a high standard. Can't wait to return on our next visit.
Arrived at 10:30. There was an “event” on (a table full of folk who’d just done a yoga class) and were told we couldn’t get food until 11. Fine, ordered some coffee and waited. At 11:00 we were told that because of the “event” the only good available was a bacon and egg roll. Perfect for a vegetarian… or a cake out the cabinet. Here we are at 11:30 about to leave watching food from the actual menu being brought out to people. They’re probably wondering why it’s nearly mid day and their tip jar is empty… won’t be back.
This gem of a place is sat right on the edge of the loch so the setting is idyllic. But the cake I ate there was sublime. One of the gluten free choices was a white chocolate rocky road and this is what I ordered. It was HUGE as were the other gf non gf) cakes the scones were almost the size of dinner plates). Back to my rocky road though. It was the best cake I have eaten EVER!! It’s worth the journey for that cake alone. Drinks choices were excellent too and the staff were polite and very helpful. Well worth a visit.
