Contribuisci feedback*Rating is a 4.5*Came for dinner for 4 on a Friday night. We were promptly seated by our friendly host and proceeded to order: vege spring rolls (standard), green papaya salad (absolutely delicious), green curry (good), charred noodles (delicious) and Siamese watercress (very tasty, funnily enough this side dish was my favourite thing we ordered). Dessert was a bit less appealing so we skipped this. Overall the dishes were balanced, flavour packed, but it felt like there was a limited selection of options on the menu compared to previous visits (over a year ago admittedly). The restaurant itself is very funky and has a distinctly ‘Melbourne-like’ vibe which I love. Service was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.
First time eating at Long Chim. Since I am not from Perth, it took me some time to go d it. You have to look for stairs going down.<br/ <br/ The restaurant is dimly lit. Service is good and staff attentive.<br/ <br/ I have ordered the Thai seafood laksa. The broth is richer compared to Malaysian laksa. The bowl of laksa came piping hot with vermicelli noodles, seafood balls, prawns and very spicy coconut soup. Compliment the fiery dish with lemongrass drink.<br/ <br/ Overall very tasty and spicy. Highly recommended.
Headed to Long Chim on a busy friday without a booking and they were able to squeeze us in with a short wait at the bar. Both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks were delicious with hints of asian fruits and spices such a kafir like and nutmeg.Service was impeccable, while we were waiting they would check on us every 5 or 10 mins to make sure we knew we hadn't been forgotten. They were all very knowledgeable on menu items and made suitable recommendations.Food came out quickly and I couldnt fault any of it. The crunchy prawns, squid and duck fried rice were cooked to perfection. Id probably chose a curry instead of the lemongrass fish next time but it was still tasty.
Was put off by so, so many comments mostly price wise about Long Chim, but I’m glad I did. <br/ <br/ The service is fantastic, first off. My crustacean allergy was considered and handled with an email of the menu specifically highlighting which items I should avoid, and which I should be aware of. Aside from attention to detail, the service was unobtrusive, friendly and extremely pleasant. This alone stands well above the rest of Perth. <br/ <br/ The cocktails we got were very, very nice. Well made, well balanced and just delicious and easy to drink. <br/ <br/ We had the fragrant chicken satay, duck fried rice, pork pineapple curry, papaya salad. The food is great. Expensive, yes, but it was well worth it, considering the two stunning desserts we ordered. <br/ <br/ The sticky rice with mango is one of the best things I’ve had in a while, the mango is sweet, ripe and tender. The sticky rice is salty, creamy and delightfully chewy and rich. The thai tea ice cream is in a league of its own. Incredibly flavourful, smooth and delicious. <br/ <br/ Good God, simple delicious food done incredibly well. Will be back!
