Jj Hapgood General Store Eatery - Peru

One of the best pizzas I have ever had ? Friendly and attentive staff. We sat on the patio, which is lovely. They have yard games like corn hole available. So glad we stopped here en route to a camping weekend (visiting from Massachusetts).

We visited the Vermont Country Store... and I asked a patron of a good place nearby to eat. So pleased they recommended JJ Hapgood's. Food excellent, wonderful staff! We sat outside which was so pleasant. We also learned this eatery was recently taken over by a family who resides where we live....what a beautiful surprise. On our next trip to VT, we will be sure to visit again.

Was staying nearby in jamaica and my bnb called out breakfast at jj hapgood’s as a “must do”… so glad we did it because this is truly the most delicious waffle i’ve ever had. the outdoor patio is dog-friendly and so luscious!

Visiting from NYC for a family reunion, we rented a house near Peru, VT. One night, we decided to have a pizza night, and as it happened, Thursday night was Pizza Night at JJ Hapgood. What a pleasant surprise! Since we were a party of 10, we ordered all five pizzas available. They were all delicious—just the way we like our pizzas: wood-fired. The dough was superb, and the service was very friendly. We dined on the outdoor patio at sundown, which made for a lovely experience. The young kids played on the grass with the cornhole games. Needless to say, it became our go-to place during our stay. We went back the next couple of days for breakfast, grabbed take-out sandwiches for lunch, and on the last day of our vacation, we decided to go to JJ for our final dinner. On Saturdays, they have a more extensive menu. We ordered many of the additional dishes, including the scallops, the steak, and others—they were all very good. However, we all once again loved the pizzas the most. If you are in the area and looking for a great place, don’t hesitate to go to JJ Hapgood. You won’t regret it.

Awesome friendly and attentive wait staff. All the food we purchased was excellent. Good coffee too! Lovely outdoor space for the kids and overall a great atmosphere.
