Every time I go here, I taste a new big wine to add my list and they are always at amazing prices. Jason is a wine superhero and the atmosphere is not stuffy, it has a relaxed community feeling of people just try big wine and enjoy any other company. I love this place for me, it's a hidden gem that I was introduced recently and I'm so happy that I was. It is very Petaluma that is a real compliment.
Jason, the owner, knows wine like no one I know. And that says a lot about someone who lives in the wine country. I first discovered this wine bar in the previous place when I moved here six years ago, which, as some reviewers said, was a bit dark. For me, this was a nice positive and perfect divine, if you want. The same great wines, and the same great service. The new location on Kentucky is bright, bright, warm and welcoming. While there are only four coveted, comfortable seats at the bar, there are also many spots on the windows. If Jason is behind the bar, you need to learn about some delicious wines that you have never tried. He is insulting and funny, and the wonderful people who flock to this place are so much. In the last few decades I have joined many expensive wine clubs from Sonoma to Napa, but what I'm most about Vine and Barrel's wine club is that it's varied, it's not just wines from a vineyard, and it's not just California wines, too. Jason reveals his customers to incredible wines from all over the world, at reasonable prices too. You really can't ask for more. Stop next time in Petaluma. You'll be glad you did it.
Although Vine Barrel has been in town for some time, I never really had the opportunity to check it until she moved to Kentucky, and I'm really glad I did it! Jason is a Hoot he's super friendly and of course worth knowing about wines, no matter where. I had no single bad wine from his business, and he actually has us on many less well-known varieties / regions that are often exceptional values. His wine club is a great value at $38/month for your choice of two wines $19/bottle) between two red and two white wine offerings, for which he very detailed notes, along with Petaluma's best dry humor, once a month. In addition, you can buy as many bottles as you want at the club price, if you want more, you will get 15% off any other bottle in the shop, and you will be reduced by the glass wines if you ever feel like a popping for a drink. Now that we have collected a large collection of wine, we had to cancel all our wine clubs, but not those that it is too good of a value. What I love about the store is that you can find some cult classics and high-end wines I think I saw a '16 Mouton Rothschild sitting on a rack), but also wines from small producers, many local. Talk to Jason and tell him what you are looking for, and he will find you something extraordinary in your price range, whether it is drinking, a special occasion or a gift for every day.
Vine Barrel has such a diverse selection of wines from local favorites to international greats! The owner has a comprehensive knowledge of the wines he has for sale. I just tell him what I'm preparing to cook, and he always pulls a great wine. I'm now a happy member of the wine club! Check the place out.
