However, when we sat down at our table at 9 pm, we had only received our drinks and no food. After inquiring, we were told by the waiter that our order had just gone through, meaning we had waited over an hour for our food. Some of the starters we received were stone cold, including pork ribs that were inedible. When we mentioned this to our waiter, there was no apology or offer to rectify the situation. The main courses were decent, but the evening had already been ruined. We even had to pay for additional drinks before they were served to us. There was no gesture of apology or reduction in price for the terrible starters. I will not be returning to this restaurant, as the staff clearly lack proper customer service skills. They were too preoccupied with menial tasks like folding napkins to realize that customers were waiting for their food, which the kitchen was unaware of.
Brewery tap is consistently in the top three restaurants in Peterborough for the last 17 years. Friendly staff, comfortable, spacious and good setting. Great selection of food and drink food is fantastic every visit. Our go to restaurant for couples and family.
A group of seven of us were looking to have a casual lunch and spend some time together. We ordered drinks and a variety of starters from the menu to share. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. The staff were friendly and the drinks were good. The prices were quite reasonable too. We will definitely be coming back in the future.
The Brewery Tap is a modern bar and restaurant owned by Oakham Ales, known for their affordable craft beers near Peterborough. The spacious venue has a beautiful design and offers a variety of ales on tap, though not as many as some might hope for (I noticed 5 or 6 taps). While other pubs may offer Oakham beers at lower prices, the seating inside is plentiful and comfortable, with a basic outdoor seating area. The service was friendly and efficient, and the Thai food was tasty and reasonably priced. They also have a happy hour on food. Overall, The Brewery Tap is a nice pub, but for a cask ale enthusiast like myself, it falls short of its potential.
Came for a nice drink at the Brewery Tap for a birthday. Would have stayed longer but was put off for a few reasons. 1) when asking what the local beer was, the barmaid was obviously confused and claimed Madri was a local beer. 2) Kids running around not supervised by an adult, it's a large place so even trying to find a quiet corner wasn't possible. 3) there was a chap there clearly drunk and falling asleep at table. Staff did nothing to remove him, he was refusing to leave. So we left as it didn't feel like staff had that under control. Definitely wouldn't return or recommend. This was a quiet Monday night so really made it an uncomfortable experience.
