Jk Market - Petersburg

I had high hopes for this very clean store, but after they stopped fresh food at 4pm, I purchased bad expired cheese bought from Walmart, and last the never ending line of customers that only buy terrible alcohol and lotto tickets while I patiently wait in line with actual food while they pick their losing numbers. If Petersburg corner stores just cut down on their alcohol and focused on more important food items the neighborhood might* get better. I'm still hopeful. They are nice and deal with a lot of rude customers so that's why they get 3 stars.

This place has AMAZING food and service!! If you are in Petersburg this is definitely a place to try. Great home cooking and they have fried okra. Absolutely delicious! Made a call in order order was done when I got there and very nicely packaged. Everything was even wrapped in paper and boxed so my sandwiches didn't fall apart on the way home. I love this place! Jacob and Kimberly are doing a great job! It's always very clean. They have a large market selection and prepared food. This is the best part of my morning ritual.

Very nice owners. Daily well cleaned. Eating is a bit expensive, but has almost everything you need.

I was there yesterday because it was close and it was recommended. I just wanted to get some snacks and maybe a cold sandwich. I went into my surprise and it was very bright and clean. The owners were very friendly. You have to order a large menu on the display with several options cooked for food. I got the snacks and order cheese steaks and pommes. It was delicious. I ordered several cheese steaks from many places from the area and found just a few I like. I'd judge them first. The cave is that their prices were too high. The costs vary slightly from one corner store to another, but usually most are in the same ball park. I probably spent $5 more at JK than what I expected. That said no other place is so clean and bright. And my food was better than what I ordered from restaurants, so it's worth it. Overall, I had a good experience there and I will be back.
